And, maybe this will make me sound like a prude, but all the sexual talk during the first 2/3 of the book kind of eeked me out and was a turn off. The over-the-top hip writing was distracting to me and I felt like the author was trying to hard. It seemed as though the book may have been trying to make a statement about how people become "savages" or what is perceived to be a savage, but it wasn't done in a way that was very interesting to me. I didn't particularly care about any of the characters and the main girl annoyed me to no end. Review 1: I was hoping for more out of this book given some of the media it received.
